Price and Availability:
Available until July 2027, $4200 / mo. This includes all utilities (heat, hot water, electricity, internet). Longer stays would be eligible for a lower rent, and shorter stays would increase the rent. We have dedicated off street parking in front of the house which we could rent to you for an additional $200/mo.

Transportation:
We are less than 10 min walk from the Fresh Pond Road stop on the M, which gets you to Delancey-Essex in the Lower East Side in Manhattan in 25 min. We are also about a 20 min walk from the L at Halsey, which gets you to Union Square in 20min. There are myriad buses along Myrtle Avenue and Fresh Pond Road.

Location:
The neighborhood is very walkable, and our block is residential but a short walk from the trendy Ridgewood restaurants and just a couple blocks from any business or service you could imagine on Fresh Pond Road and Myrtle Avenue. One block away from a large grocery store. Trader Joes and other chain stores are just a 10 min drive. Many parks and green spaces within walking, biking, or a short drive such as the Ridgewood Reservoir & Highland Park as well as the 100-acre Forest Park.

Living space:
Downstairs is the sunroom, living room, dining room and kitchen. Upstairs are the three bedrooms and the bathroom. The current setup is: one roomy primary bedroom, a secondary bedroom/office, and the third room is an office only. Please see the floor plan and images. We can adapt the setup of the secondary bedroom to fit your needs.

Kitchen:
The kitchen has a gas stove and an amazing restored fridge from the 60s that came with the house. It’s pink inside! The kitchen is equipped with all necessary cookware and dishes, including an on-demand hot water dispenser for coffee and tea.

Outdoor Space:
There is a small backyard and front concrete area. Either of which are enough space to set up the BBQ and eat outside. The fig tree in the back yard bears delicious fruit in the fall.

Amenities:
- Cast iron radiator heat keeps you cozy all winter
- Central A/C (minisplits) keep you cool in the summer
- Projector, surround sound and screen in the living room
- Washer (no dryer, we dry on a rack or the clothes line out the back window)
- Linens, towels, blankets supplied
- Weber charcoal BBQ grill

We currently have many plants in the house. Are you a plant person who would enjoy taking care of them? If not, we can make other plans for them. We have a lot of books etc. that we hope you will enjoy, depending on your space needs we can store some of that as well.

We have lovingly renovated this 100-year old house and are looking for someone to take good care of it and communicate effectively if anything comes up so we can keep up maintenance.

About This Lister

We are two artists / academics and are going on sabbatical until July 2027. We are looking for someone to rent our house hopefully for that whole time, but are open to patching together a few subletters to cover the year. The basement of the house and the garage have a separate entrance and constitute our art studio space. Depending on our schedule of showing artwork in NYC during that year we will sporadically be using the studio.
