Hi, I'm Jonathan (he/him). I grew up in Vancouver, and studied both architecture and astrophysics at the University of Pennsylvania, and have lived in Beijing, London, and Lyon. I have a deep love for the spaces I exist in. I believe the intention we leave in a space finds its way back into our work and our lives — and this apartment is a direct reflection of that.
My bedroom was designed in three distinct stages, each with its own character. The entrance is industrial: a display and workspace for clothes, tools, and the hardware projects I work on. Behind it, the room expands upward. Climb the stairs and the industrial gives way entirely — a lofted platform of pure calm, where I journal and make tea before sleeping. No screens, no clutter. From up there, you breathe in air from the greenhouse and wake to the sound of birds. Descend the stairs and step forward, and you're in it — a towering greenhouse of fiddle leaf figs, Japanese maples, travertine tables, cushions, and low light, where I host friends and play music at the end of the day. The ensuite bedroom was recently vacated and I'm in the process of furnishing it — it will be beautiful when you arrive.
I'll be traveling for a month, and I'm subletting to someone I can genuinely trust. This is my lived-in, loved home, and I'm looking for someone who'll treat it that way. You'd be in good hands on the block. I have warm, trusted neighbors in the building and on the street who keep an eye out.
I'm excited for whoever stays here to inhabit this space the way I do — to make tea in the loft at night, to sit in the greenhouse in the morning, and to feel, even briefly, that my little world is yours too.
