Our two-floor apartment in a light-filled and roomy townhouse is available for rental from February 1, 2026 - May 15, 2026.
The two-story layout is perfect for a family or a set of roommates looking for sunlight, high ceilings, outdoor access, and a super short walk to Atlantic Center.
Top floor: One large room (queen) with plants and office space, a second large room (double) facing the backyard, and a smaller middle room (double) with a skylight. 2 full bathrooms- one with a tub-and a washer/dryer!
Main floor: Kitchen is ideal for cooking with family and hosting friends. Step right out the back onto a large deck for fresh air and stairs down to the tree-filled backyard (shared with lovely downstairs neighbors). Small sitting/dining room. Art Studio in the front parlor room.
We will be traveling for work for 3 months and are renting out the rooms individually or together:
Room 1: 150 sf. w/shared bath: $2000
Room 2: 95 sf. w/shared bath: $1500
Room 3: 218 sf. w/private bath and office space: $2500
The rental includes all utilities, wifi, and use of the outdoor space.
Other amenities:
- washer/dryer in the large shared bathroom
- new appliances, including a dishwasher
- great wifi throughout the apartment and in each room
- lots of space to spread out for privacy or to come together for company
Art Studio: We recently moved into this large apartment and converted the front parlor room into an art studio where we run neighborhood art workshops. We'd love to keep that going, so looking for renters amendable to joyful art making a couple times a week. The studio may be used for your personal art making needs or simply as a living room while no classes are happening (we anticipate having 4 two-hour classes per week). The experienced teaching artists will set up and clean up everything. There is no obligation to be around while they are taking place, just ok with the noise and energy of a 6 - 8 person workshop.
One of the best parts of this apartment is the location. We are on Bergen Street near Vanderbilt Avenue -- tons of restaurants and groceries nearby, within walking distance to Prospect Park and the Botanical Garden. Close to downtown Brooklyn, and blocks away from the Barclay's Center.
We are hoping to rent our apartment to people who will love it and take care of it, be respectful of our neighbors, are amendable to community art workshops, and who love cats. Our two young cats, Rita and Reina, will need love and care while we are away. We’ll leave furniture, linens, kitchen stuff, and everything you need to settle in for a short stay (with plenty of books to read too).
We are a family of 3 humans and 2 cats and have loved living in this neighborhood for almost 30 years.
We ask tenants to sign a lease with the first month's rent and 1 month deposit. We will ask for references as well.
