Our serene, cottage-style retreat on five private acres is available for summer rental in the pastoral Berkshires countryside.
Built in the 1930s, we've kept it's original charm intact.
Four bedrooms each with private bath. A clawfoot tub, marble floors and light-filled rooms. The kitchen retains it's original cast iron Garland six-burner stove and a large dining table, ideal for those who love to cook.
Our home also boasts two separate, light-filled living rooms, ideal for reading with billowy couches and a writers room, which has earned the name of the "heaven room" for its eye-level vantage point with surrounding pines.
The hearth of our home is an open-spaced, high-ceiling original with stone fireplace and tempered-glass french doors, which lead out to our stone-laden porch overlooking the lush acreage.
Wisteria and grapevines drape from the pergola in the yard. Hydrangeas, daffodils, tulips, herbs (wildflowers galore!) and a picturesque cedar grove also live amongst the backdrop of nature. Lots of outdoor furniture and dining options.
Private access to Lake Garfield, just a three-minute drive away.
Monterey is a lovely, quiet town, just a 15 minute drive to Great Barrington and a 25 minute drive to Tanglewood.
Happy to chat and share additional photos, pending interest.
Both my partner and I work in film. We are sad to be away from our lovely home during the most iconic months of the year, but are eager to share our space with those who appreciate the beauty of the Berkshires and original charm as much as we do!
Ideal for families, writers, nature lovers and chefs alike. It is a true, private retreat and a real diamond in the rough for those looking for a tranquil space to live and/or work over the summer.
