We have multiple openings for 1:1 caregiving positions to support various Autistic young women in Manhattan. RBT/BCBA experience a plus!
Hours: We are looking for people with weekday availability (M-F) between 12-6pm and 6-9pm and/or weekend availability between 10am-9pm. Please note – Candidates do not need all availability to apply! There are multiple shifts available.
Job Requirements*:

- Experience as a caregiver for a young adult with disabilities and challenging behaviors*
- Experience working with people with minimal language and non-speakers*
- Ability to walk at a rapid pace for 20+ minutes with client*
- Ability to navigate Manhattan to accompany adult to various activities*
- Willingness to be flexible and creative to support adults with various needs and challenges*
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and experience using de-escalation techniques*
- Strong communication skills*
- Willingness and ability to assist with light housekeeping, cooking for the client and running household errands as needed is a plus
- An interest in mental health
- College degree
- Ability to swim
Job Responsibilities may include some or all of the following tasks:
- Provide one-on-one care for a young adult with autism, assisting with hygiene, daily living skills, and meal prep.
- Support self-care practices, including dressing, bathing, hair care, and tooth brushing.
- Act as a travel companion, helping navigate the community and attending appointments if needed.
- Assist with meal prep, heating, plating food, and support during meals.
- Administer medications as per the schedule.
- Engage the client in activities like drawing, music, puzzles, and introduce new interests.
- Perform light housekeeping, including cleaning, laundry, and errands like grocery or pharmacy visits.
- Collaborate with therapists, caregivers, and family for consistent care.
