This is a three bedroom apartment I currently share with one other long-term roommate, and we are looking to fill our third room. We are looking for a respectful, kind, and conscientious person to live with us, ideally who also works outside the home, and uses the space as a peaceful recharge. The start date of the sublet is fixed, but the length of term is negotiable.

The house is wonderful! I originally came to this apartment in 2016 for a summer sublet, and I have returned again several years later because the apartment is truly a rare find, and I have kept a long-term friendship with my original roommate. It's very spacious and well taken care of, I am happy to be back.
The apartment is on the first floor, the ceilings are tall and have a beautiful tin layer. The kitchen is very clean and open, and the living room is full of light and nice for hanging out or working.
While I like having friends over for dinner or the occasional hang out, I'm not crazy about having parties at the house. I like the apartment to be a restful place. I also like getting to know my roommates and developing a relationship with them, but with a good amount of privacy as well.

I like the common areas to stay tidy and clean. Dishes should be washed by the time the next meal comes around and in general, you should clean up after yourself. We have a rotating cleaning schedule for the main common spaces; it's very casual, just to be completed on your own time within a two-week time period.

We are right on the border between Bushwick and Ridgewood, which means that you are a 10-minute walk away from all the Bushwick and Ridgewood restaurants, bars, galleries, venues, etc. BUT the surroundings are very quiet and residential.

I am a female artist in my thirties, and I work at a studio space nearby. I also teach ceramics around the city throughout the week. I am a very caring and understanding person, mostly pretty quiet but I also really enjoy a good conversation when it happens. My other roommate works in the arts as well, in painting, and also works in gardening. Both of us are quiet and independent, but very caring of the space and each other. Regarding house-sharing, I prefer to communicate clearly and honestly. There's always a learning curve, but I am happy to listen and make changes.
