THE SPACE, DEETS, ETC-
1 bedroom (unfurnished or can be furnished with bed frame and full mattress) in a 2 bed/1 bath on the first floor available starting May 1. There are stairs (no ramp) up to the front entrance. This is a quiet corner of Greenpoint, right by Café Grumpy, within a 10-min walking distance of all the amenities on Manhattan and Nassau, and short biking distance of the rest of Greenpoint, Williamsburg and LIC. 5 minutes to Key Food, 5 minutes to laundromat. 10ish min walk to McGolrick, 15ish min walk to McCarren, both of which have farmers markets on the weekend.

Room has one bright window and is cozy, with space for a full-sized bed, small to medium dresser and a small desk. Utilities are electric and gas + wifi (usually $90-110 pp/month), and the space is never cold in the winter - we got those old school steam radiators that keep us toasty. The room does not have an attached closet but there is a HUGE closet in the hallway - honestly some of the biggest closets I've seen in NYC. This is an older building with quirks and charms - definitely not for someone looking for new, luxury amenities.

Most of the common space will still be furnished and the kitchen is well stocked! This is a compost friendly apartment! We are blessed with big windows in every room - great for plants! Oh, and, we have a claw foot TUB(!!!).

Often when people visit they describe the space as warm and cozy and I hope you can bring the same energy - warm, generous, open-minded. Love some quiet, calm moments but also some joyful, dance moments!

This is a 4-unit building and I'm still very close with past neighbors who now live down the street. This used to be a building where if you are in the middle of cooking dinner and realize you don't have any lemons - someone in the building will likely say "run up here and grab one of mine!" While most of the neighbors I've been friends with have now left for one reason or another, that energy of community is still an important quality I seek in a roommate :)

I have been in the space for 8 years now (!) but love to share space and conversation. I've been in the mood to repaint the hallway and the bathroom - maybe you're down to share vision boards for the shared space? I ideally like when a roommate and I are in it together, not just living side by side.

YOU-
In your 30s ideally. Any identity, though female preferred! Definitely a plus if you have a creative outlet, solid routine or gig that engages you. Respectful, nice, grounded, communicative before ruminating on an issue, and tidy - can maintain regular cleanliness of common areas or can work well with a cleaning chart if that's your thing. I don't need to be ~best friends~ with you, but I'd love to hang out every so often, maybe share some meals, drink spritzes on the stoop, watch a movie together or low key chat!

Other than that I want to know more about you!!

*If you have trouble communicating your needs with an open heart, or aren't willing to understand others make mistakes and can't read your mind, then this apartment is not for you! <3*

About This Lister

I am a cis white women in my mid 30s, I work full time 10-6 M-F in photo shoot production and like to be out and about in the city in my free time. When I am home these days I spend a lot of time reading, working out in the living room (on a pilates/weightlifting kick right now!), cooking, baking and watching baseball (let's go Mets!). I love to have friends over for frequent stoop hangs or for dinner on average once or twice a month. About two or three times a year I throw a big house/dinner party - Usually around Memorial or Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Hannukah. These have become important community events for my social circle and yes you're invited! They are very fun! I always deep clean before/after but if infrequent late parties and a packed house are not your vibe then this might not be a match.

I'm conscious of my trash output and try to live in a "green" way. I compost and recycle and limit my plastic! That's just me, though - you can live your life how you will!

I do cook meat and fish in the house, but used to be vegetarian so fully support that if you are. I regularly drink and there's a little bar nook built in - if being around alcohol is uncomfortable for you this might not be the best fit.

I prefer the shared spaces to be kept tidy, and I do my dishes within a reasonable amount of time, but also on the occasional low-energy days, I might just need to kick my shoes off wherever or not do my dishes *immediately* and understand you'll probably do that from time to time too. We all have those days!

I don't mind you inviting friends over (please do!) as long as it's not disrespectful of sleeping schedules or noise levels.

I like to think I'm fun to live with!! That's what all my roommates have said but possibly they're polite liars. You can decide for yourself!

Rental requirements

Flexible May 1, May 15 or June 1 move in. The landlords will ask for a credit check. Lease takeover through August. Possibility to resign for a 12 month lease at that time - rent will go up to $1.2k/month starting August 1. Please specify duration of lease you are seeking. I prefer someone who will want to to be here through August 2027, but can be open to a short term 3-month lease takeover for the right person. Let's chat!

This is a queer and trans friendly home and new tenant must be tolerant and supportive of these identities. <3

Is this the place for you?? Exciting!! Send me an email with your info! I'd love to know more about you - how do you spend your time, what are your interests, how would you describe yourself as a roommate, (and so I know you read the whole listing) what embarrassing music did you listen to as a teenager?
