My roommate and I are seeking another person to resign a lease in our 3 bed/1 bath walk up in Crown Heights. The apartment is on the 3rd floor and has a dishwasher and washer/dryer in unit. The room is small but cozy, and the apartment is steps away from the 2/3/4/5/S, a 5 minute walk from the Brooklyn Museum and Botanical Gardens, and a 12 minute walk to Prospect Park. We’ve lived here for two years and love the local businesses and convenience of the area (close to grocery stores, restaurants, cafes, bars, etc.).
My roommate and I work from home a few times a week so our ideal roommate would be someone who can be respectful of noise in the space during working hours and at night. We like to host friends for dinner occasionally but we don’t tend to bring the party home. We’re friends and would like to be friendly with a new roommate, though mutual respect and communication is most important.
Luna (29, she/they) and Elizabeth (29, she/her) are both queer people of color so queer/queer friendly people are preferred. We care about equality and human rights of marginalized people across the world including Palestine, and we're looking for someone who aligns with our values. Luna is a doctoral student and performing artist and Elizabeth is a poet and program manager. Rent is $1116 and you need to make 40x the rent. We’ll schedule a first call and then you can come see the space if it’s a good fit. We ask that you provide a roommate reference as well. The lease needs to be resigned by July 14th.
40x rent, credit check, tax return, proof of income, bank statement, pay stubs
