The apartment is a 2BR/1B in an old building, which means that, sadly the apartment doesn't have an elevator (4th floor!). The building itself is pretty well-maintained and clean. The super is incredibly helpful, and I have a very good relationship with him. The building has a laundry room, a gym, bike storage, a backyard, and a common-use office (that I have never used, I have to admit).

There's a pretty good supermarket and a Walgreens a block away, and if you take a 20-minute bus ride, you're right in front of Trader Joe's. A branch of the library is pretty close too, if you care about that! There are also multiple dollar stores and a L train thrift store very close. I honestly rarely have to leave the area to do errands. The J-Z is less than 5 minutes away and the M-L is walking distance, and there's a CitiBike deck a block away.

The apartment is small, but the rooms are a pretty good size for NYC. You can comfortably fit a desk and a queen bed. The windows are street-facing, so if you're a light sleeper, this might not be the best match. Rent for the room is $1,450 + WiFi and electricity, which are usually around $100 each (a little bit more in the colder months).

I'm 33, a journalist who WFH but honestly I'm in and out a lot, and I love reading, going to the movies, doing yoga, going to the gym, running when it's nice out, baking and crafts in general, and I'm learning how to sew. Spanish is my first language so if you speak Spanish, that's a huge plus (but obviously not a requirement!)

I'm looking for a roommate with whom I can have at least a friendly vibe. I’d love someone to watch TV and eat dinner with. Ideally, it would be someone who cleans up after themselves and helps keep the apartment clean, and hopefully, we wouldn't need a cleaning schedule. It's not a party apartment, but I don't mind having people over. We even have an air mattress in case you need to host an out-of-towner.
