Family Assistant for 2 girls (10 and 15) on the Upper West Side, NYC

Overview

This lovely UWS family is looking for an awesome, NYC savvy candidate who can help Mom spend quality time with her girls, ages 10 and 15. This role is dedicated to keeping the house and family's lives running smoothly. You'll take take the girls from activity to activity after-school, help keep the family organized, and run some household errands (they have a cleaner so there is no deep cleaning or laundry).

The Ideal Candidate for this Job

This is a position for a candidate with at least 3 to 5 years of professional experience as a nanny, babysitter, family assistant or personal assistant. Ideally, you should have three professional references that we can call from these former positions, be Covid vaccinated and CPR certified (in-person) or willing to obtain it by the start date.

This is a great entry position for somebody who would eventually like to become a personal assistant or a household manager in the future. It's also a great position for somebody who is excited to work with preteen and teen girls in the city.

While the position will feature some childcare, the role is about support and that support is primarily taking things off the plate of Mom! They're looking for super city savvy candidates that are quick on their feet, know when to take the train, and when to Uber, and are extremely confident and comfortable getting around the city with kids. As with all Family Assistant roles, the best approach is a “How can I help” mentality.

Schedule

Monday through Thursday: 2 PM to 9:30 PM
Fridays 3 PM to 8 PM

They're happy to guarantee 30 hours/week
They're offering $35/hour ($1050/week gross minimum, on the books)
Many weeks will actually be more like 35 hours/week ($1225/week gross, on the books)

About the Children

Girl, 10: Shes 10 going on 13. Loves play dates. Has big feelings.

Girl, 15: Still needs supervision, is only allowed to go to Starbucks alone for friend dates. Straight A student but still needs guidance with organization. She loves to bring home friends from school most days of the week. Loves Starbucks, Tik Tok, skin care, and Sephora.

Responsibilities

This role will be a little different each day. You'll pick the girls up, take them to activities and/or play dates. They have a housekeeper so no deep cleaning is required, but they will ask you to run the dishwasher, go to the grocery store, and take on other personal assistant tasks, like Amazon returns. They may ask for some meal prep. Keeping the space tidy is appreciated.
