About this Service

NYC Performance Test Kitchen is an in-person NYC workshop for stand-up comedians, songwriters, spoken word artists, monologists and performance artists to test, refine and improve material through structured peer feedback.

Performers with experience presenting work to an audience and who encourage a sense of collective craft-building will be considered

We create small, curated group workshops where performers artists can test work-in-progress in front of attentive peers, outside of institutional settings.

Performers receive anonymous, structured written feedback alongside a facilitated peer discussion focused on attention, clarity, and impact—helping artists understand how their work is landing and where it can be strengthened.
Workshops are curated to be intentionally cross-disciplinary and participation as a listener is as important as performing. This is not a showcase or promotional tool. The goal is to support sustained artistic development and encourage a sense of collective craft-building..

Pilot Structure
NYC-based, in-person sessions
6–8 performers per workshop (invite-only)
Short performances (5–7 minutes, often repeated within a session)
There is a small sliding scale participant fee ($15-$25) to cover facilitation, space, and admin

About this Lister

I’m an artist, producer and performer originally from London, England. All my experience has in some way worked towards facilitating artistic pursuits, whether that be producing concerts, managing productions at performance venues or curating film meetups and songwriter collectives.
My idea for this collective began with seeing how well group feedback works in writer's groups. Meanwhile, in my experience of playing open mics, producing poetry slams and extensively watching DIY stand up comedy in the city, there is never any room for constructive feedback.
I'm excited to combine all of the elements of my experience to help facilitate artistic development in a supportive but constructive environment outside the confines of formal teaching or industry critique. This will culminate in an ongoing artist residency.

Background and Expertise

I perform as a singer/songwriter, i’ve studied and practised in theater as well as improvisational and sketch comedy.
I’m a production manager at BRIC Arts Media and have experience as stage manager and as a producer of music concerts
