HelLO! We are looking to have a warm and lovely vibe with the creatures in the home-- looking for a third human who wants to participate in a Homey Vibe within the Big City.
I'm looking to meet up with folks this week.
Big picture: furnished room in big arty loft with lots of light off the Morgan stop in Brooklyn (so East Williamsburg, on the edge of Bushwick). Available immediately or thereafter/ March 1.
ROOM
Currently white walls as pictured.
One wall is exposed brick.
Open to the walls being repainted if you'd like to do that.
Furnished, as desired, of the following: large bed-- mattress and frame, desk, dresser, clothing hanging rack, etc. South /eastern facing window. Thick curtain but also nice morning dawn light.
(window AC in the summer)
11' x 9' with 8' ceilings.
VIBE
friendly, home-feel, kind, respectful.
Along with me one conscientious gentleman lives here with a dear little dog. We are friends and flatmates and wouldn't a family vibe be nice? The human's work has him gone some afternoons and evenings, though not too late. He's not a "bring the party home" type fellow.
I work freelance as a cinematographer-- sometimes here, sometimes not. I travel a bit-- so I'm sometimes here, sometimes not. I tend to be a warm and positive person.
When here, I am looking to have a home-making and warm vibe with the folks I live with. Looking to be respectful and kind, of course. This is a swell base for you. If you are looking to come in and RAGE, bring folk home from the bar every night, etc, then we aren't a great match for you. Of course you are welcome to have guests over-- we are just more of a "come have dinner" vs "late night rager" vibe. We ask you be able to participate in our chore system in a self-motivated manner. We are about good communication and respect. :). Let's have a "share-a-cup of tea, I'll make it for us" atmosphere.
LOFT APARTMENT OVERALL
High ceilings at 12’. Plants. Furnished.
heat/ air conditioning/ wifi / etc. Funky decor.
Kitchen, well-equipped.
Living room. Cozy vibe. Lamps. Plants. Tall Ceilings / Large.
Great daylight. Some disco balls.
There is a fourth room that currently serves as my art studio, as well as a guest room. You are welcome to have guests use it.
Bathroom has a bathtub!
AREA
Street parking isn’t hard— I keep a car here. Easy to re-park in the evenings.
We are half a block from the subway entrance.
Quiet-ish block at night.
Closely walkable to bars, restaurants, coffee places, commercial area with lots of little stores, two large grocery stores-- one of which is 24-hours, good 24-hour deli around the block, one large park and some small ones.
Neat walkable venues include the House of Yes, local bars Pine Box, the Anchored Inn, the Wicked Lady.
Local coffee places: Ange Noir Cafe, Swallow Cafe, Xcrossroads, Sey Coffee. ("...Coffee.")
BUILDING
I have been living here since 2008.
I like my neighbors, who are folks in their late thirties, one child.
Great roof-- large, with striking views of the city. Come have a sunset smoke or a cute picnic. I've got the gear, use at will.
Laundry ie washers and dryers in basement, though also nearby laundromats. This is a "loft building" vibe and sometimes, for instance, the machines aren't working. or something is a little amiss that takes longer than one might desire to get fixed. Not by much though!
We are a four floor walk up.
I am a positive person who enjoys living with friendly kind humans.
I'd like my home to have a bit of a homey vibe.
I am 41 years old, a woman, I like hiking and bouldering and dancing and crafting and making weird and funny projects with friends.
I am not very loud in the home. I tend towards a later night schedule, my only sometimes so.
I'm stable mentally, financially, and emotionally (my flatmate also!) and we're looking for the same. Neither of us are heavy drinkers or drug users. 420-friendly, though not in shared spaces, in your room/out-the-window vibe (or the roof).
It is nice our home can have sometimes a chill vibe and sometimes a friendly vibe.
current longterm tenant. I have been living here since 2008.
$1350/month*
Available currently or for a March 1 move in; later is possible. We are flexible.
Prefer a long term person living here for long term atmosphere/effort, open to shorter.
Security deposit is same as rent.
We exchange copies of our photos ID, and emergency contact.
We aren't discriminatory and we welcome folks from the diverse range of ages, races, sexualities, genders, etc. We are looking for a friendly homey kind mature-while-still-fun "40ish year old" vibe, vs a 20-something-vibe of coming home waaaasted and/or needing to be prompted to contribute to chores, ya know.
Please be able to be self-motivated when contributing to a cleaning system and home shared contributory effort overall.
Food-wise, one of us has a serious allergy to nuts, and we ask that we have a nut-free home. (Peanuts are no problem). I also newly have to go gluten-free; we'll see what I ask around that; probably separate sponges.
Animals welcome; let's discuss. One small dog lives here.
When contacting me, thank you for including a write up about you personally, your schedule/work/work from home schedule, anything you may consider a red flag that you either bring, or strongly are against, and any needs on your end worth discussing. [Do you need SILENCE at a certain time? Is your work-from-home day job drum kit testing? etc.] Thanks for including your phone and email and bonus points for specifically what timeS in the next week you would like to be offered to come by. Sooner is better. Thank you for making coordination and follow up quick and easy! Happy home-finding!
Pets welcome.
We have a small 4 year old dog who lives here, so new pets would have to get along with him. He is easy to get along with, and submissive to other animals.
We don't have allergies to pets. <3
