Apartment is located on the 4th floor of a medium-sized elevator building dating to ca. 1929 at the corner of Dorchester Road & E. 17th Street in Ditmas Park. We have live-in Supers who keep the building very clean and manage the garden in the front and side of the building. There is laundry, recycling, and composting in the basement. Having lived in the building for over a decade, I have met and become friendly with many of the long-time neighbors who look out for each other.

The apartment is furnished with a bed, wardrobe, kitchen island, sofa, desk, air conditioners, nest doorbell camera, bar cart, bookshelves, area rug, a variety of chairs. The layout is a typical kitchen/living room combination, bathroom has a bathtub with a water-saving shower head, and bedroom is about the same size as the other room and therefore quite spacious. There are 2 closets and some overhead storage, but the wardrobe holds a lot and there is more room under the bed.

Utilities = ~$125 for cooking gas (currently not connected), electricity, internet. All should be established in subtenant's name.

The nearest subway is 2.5 blocks away -- the Q @ Cortelyou Road. The B/Q express stop at Newkirk Avenue is 3 longer blocks away.

The neighborhood is diverse and on the edge of Victorian Flatbush with beautiful homes; also a foodie destination and boasting multiple grocery stores/natural food stores, pharmacies, a Sunday farmer's market, and recently added citibike stations.

About This Lister

I've rented this apartment since 2011 and consider it my home. Despite that, I moved to Copenhagen temporarily for work and expect to return at the end of February/beginning of March 2025.

The apartment is perfect for 1 person -- not too big and not too small. It's furnished with all the necessary items with a little room for more. It gets great light throughout the day, but I also have great blinds and celing fan to keep it from getting stuffy.

I don't have much communication with the landlord except with regard to this sublease. The supers are a fixture and I see them often. I have lovely neighbors and we all watch out for each other.

My neighbor will be able to the show the space on my behalf, provide the keys, and other information about the building.
