Our stylish, light-filled apartment is located in the heart of the Marais. The apartment features historic exposed wood-beam ceilings, beautiful antiques, a very comfortable bed, a large desk, a separate kitchen, a bathtub and shower, a washer/dryer, and Wi-Fi, all in a 4th-floor (French 3rd-floor) elevator building with many longtime residents.

The bedroom and living room are separate spaces in an open-layout design. The apartment is steps from Centre Pompidou, Rue Rambuteau and Rue des Archives, with many nearby cafés, bars, restaurants, pharmacies, a close by Monoprix, and shops. There is an Italian art gallery next to the building's entrance that serves cappuccino, fresh orange juice, and gelato.

It is a 14-minute walk to Châtelet and the RER. The Line 11 métro, which connects to the fun and lively northeastern neighborhoods of Paris, is right around the corner, while Line 1 — one of the city’s most connected métro lines — is less than a 10-minute walk away. The apartment is also close to Hôtel de Ville and Notre-Dame.

My brother and I co-own the apartment, which our parents bought 42 years ago for our father's archival research needs. We grew up between Connecticut and the Ardèche, in rural Southern France. We are bilingual in French and live in Los Angeles and Washington, DC.
