This is a great apartment I'm sorry to be leaving (due to some financial and health issues). I'm seeking someone to take over my lease from June 1st (possibly could do May 15 depending on the situation), which ends September 30th. At that point, if you wish to sign a new lease with the landlord, great. There may be a slight increase, but again, it's rent stabilized. The rent right now is 2300/month-an EXCELLENT deal for this area.
This is a small, basic but solid 1 bedroom apartment (I think it was a studio that was made into a 1br-manage your expectations). Pics are from the streeteasy listing and not the same unit-I will update with my own pics ASAP. It's on the 2nd floor of a small rent stabilized building with not a ton of other tenants-maybe 3-4 on each floor, on 3 floors. Building and tenants are pretty quiet. The bedroom is small but can fit a full bed and dresser + potentially bookshelf. The bedroom faces the back of the building, not the street, and gets excellent natural light all day (it overlooks a bunch of backyards, and it feels like being in a treehouse in a cool way). Main area and bathroom have windows, but are not as bright, though a cut-out in bedroom wall lets some nice sunlight in the main area. The kitchen and bathroom were recently renovated, and the bathroom even has a very nice tub (surprising for the price). There is also a decent closet and a small storage cubby above it. There is laundry in the basement as well, and it's a pet friendly building, which also make this a pretty lowkey great deal. Water included in rent only; wifi and electric extra. The landlord is very reasonable, responsive and helpful when the normal NY issues happen. There is 1 flight of steps up on the outside of the building, and 1 flight up inside to the unit.
The area is super convenient - literally like one block from the R train at Prospect Ave, and 7 short blocks along 4th ave to the F/G at 9th St. Cute block right at the nexus of Gowanus and Park Slope/South Slope/Greenwood.
Apt will be unfurnished, however, I have a Windowsill AC unit and small countertop dishwasher (that fits right into the kitchen) that I would sell if the new prospective tenant is interested.
I'm assisting the landlord in finding someone for the space, so get in touch and we can make a time to take a look.
I'm the leaseholder and will be showing the space.
The standard requirements apply: make 40x the rent, credit check, etc.
Cats and small dogs allowed.
