We have a film production studios in Williamsburg, all housed in a historic industrial Warehouse with multi floors.
We are seeking someone who has experience and knowledge of film production. The person should be adept at amending our website and work collaboratively creating social media campaigns.
This is a notable opportunity for those seeking exposure with film production people and projects. Because of our multi divergent spaces - authentic industrial loading dock fashioned with authentic props, distressed loft, dystopian detectives office, roof garden, an amazing curated library- we get a full gamut of provocative and diverse film projects. We have film production clients bringing documentary interviews, indie films, Hip Hop, Metal and Dance videos all in our spaces.

This is for ostensibly starting out part-time to develop to a full-time hosting film production events. In the beginning we'll hand walk you through how the building and the elevator works. The lighting arrangements and the protocol for what can and cannot happen for our guests. The person has to monitor the events for safety concerns, be on hand to assist any issues the guests may have.

We actually don't need anyone to drum up more business via social media, etc. we get a steady flow of clients and I'm not ruled by the almighty dollar. We have an amazing website that's noteworthy compared to our industry standards.
If you have web skills, social media with film editing these are skills I'm interested in campaigning and collaborating with. To be concrete, we're in the midst of adding rentable props to our website. Rather than putting prices on rentable props, I'm interested in campaigning how certain artifacts tell a story. How there's a philosophy of what distressed, dystopian- the wabi-sabi of artifacts speaks towards qualities of authenticity and what is real as a counterpoint to our oversaturated marketing culture. Why? So when clients choose us not because they think the objects are "cool" but they truly understand why they're valuable and how it tells a story. It's with the hopes they'll value our work and perceive our spaces as significant & be animated towards their own artistic expressions.
I believe this to be a worthy campaign.

Separate and as a possible add-on, I am a consummate Builder having a multi-material shop within the building. I cut my teeth on running an architectural woodshop working for designers and specs. Currently, in working with vintage and artifact materials towards creating props and staging for the above space. If anyone is interested in learning welding, industrial sewing, woodworking & working with historical artifacts you could not find a better learning matrix than here. I'm incredibly patient and I do enjoy the process of watching other's handicraft skills burgeon.

Yes I make money; I just don't need it. A $10 halal sandwich and I'm good to go. I can climb 14 ft ladders with tool belts tricking out lighting; stalk multiple flea markets pre-dawn; drive 300 miles to find artifacts of forgotten America. I am an archivist and caretaker of what does humanity look like when it has to struggle with hard work and tooling? I have a renegade collection of unwanted museum pieces: a welding Hammer made from a broken file with chips and scars; a discarded American flag found in the garbage can yet when you study all the attempts to repair it, it tells the story of who we are; a homemade sewn children's book made for a grandchild- all emblematic how through earnest work we tell a story of ourselves.
The ongoing film shoots is capitalistic how I support my intravenous need to support researching & storytelling unloved artifacts found, (unloved only in our cultural void). If somehow these film production crews damage or disparage these artifacts that I wish to outlive me to remain in the social sphere then I'll throw their money back in their face and I'll kick them out of the building. That's the werewolf part.

"the real deal" these aren't hollow Halloween words bandied one day of the year to feel good. Even my lowly bathrooms are dedicated to "the real deal". It's a keystone of my dystopian philosophy, as I was a kid as it is today, if kids are missing a parent coupled with their poor- it's an unfair playing field. Festooned around the bathrooms are photos of a bygone era prior to my son's birth. I volunteered. I took kids out hiking. Showed and escorted them to access free City events. Taught them how to kayak. Taught sailing to kids right here in NYC Waters. Most of these inner city kids never went further than a two block radius.
I do this because we get so many different film production people, I wish to inspire them towards another prism. To join a volunteer group or be a big brother or a big sister to a vulnerable part of our city.
