Hi! Looking for a kindhearted, communicative person to rent from 12/1/2025-6/15/2026 (possibility of an earlier move-in), as my roommate and good friend is moving across the country for work.

$1725/month ($862.50 for 6/2026) Heat and water are included. We'll split gas, electric, and wifi.
Looking for relatively calm house vibes. Not a ton of foot traffic.

When you agree to the sublease, I want you to feel like this is your place now, too. Not "me casa, su casa,"/vacation rental-style, but like it's our home.

I work in-office weekdays from afternoon to night (work from homer's are welcome!)

The Place:
The Apartment is on the top floor of a 4th-floor walk-up at the corner of President St and Troy Ave.

7 min walk from the Crown Heights-Utica Ave stop 3(local) & 4(express) trains. The area is comfortable.

You'll have the larger room. It's 12ft x 14ft 2in, with a wall of windows facing west. Closet is 63in x 27in (the place has tall ceilings, so there's ample closet storage).
The room is furnished (but can be partially furnished/unfurnished if you prefer)! All storage in the room is available to you (the empty dresser, the entire closet, etc.).

The common area is pretty spacious and gets great light. The living room will look a bit different than pictured (there'll be a different couch and one table).
In-unit washer (no dryer; I use a drying rack, plus there’s a laundry line in the living room for us to use).

I'd like for us to agree on a general cleaning routine for the shared spaces. And for us to both pitch in on household supplies.

The Situation:
My current roommate is the sole leaseholder, and you'll be subleasing from him. I'll will be moving out shortly after you do b/c the landlord's disproportionate per-person salary requirement is $$$. If you think you meet the requirements, you'll be free to apply for the apartment at the end of the sublease and stay!

About This Lister

Hi, my name's Thelma (she/her). I'm a 29-year-old black cis woman currently working (in-office) at NYU as a multimedia technician. I've been in the apartment for less than a year and lived in the area for about 8 years.

I'm figuring out some health issues at the moment, so, outside of work, I'm not as physically active or out-and-about (or as interesting, frankly) as I used to be (there's a season for everything, I guess ☺️).

I'm friendly and have a good sense of humor about myself. I'm reasonable to live with, and easy to talk to, even though I can be too fatigued to chat at times.

Direct communication is really important to me; I have trouble reading minds, so I really depend on you to tell me what's on yours-- I'll do the same, I promise!

open hanging out and getting to know you more if we want that (and we don't have to want that)! But at baseline, there needs to be a cordial, respectful dynamic in which we assume the other person has the best of intentions.
