Hi! I’m looking for a roommate to share my apartment and sign a new lease starting 7/1.
The apartment is in a 7-story building about 3 minutes walk from the Classon Ave G train. There are only two units per floor, so it feels pretty calm and private.
The total rent is roughly $5,340 (based on previous increases) and would be split evenly.
The available room is the primary bedroom with its own ensuite bathroom. It has a closet, a large window, and can fit a queen/king bed, desk, and dresser no problem.
The layout works especially well for a roommate setup, with a good balance between shared and private space. The apartment gets beautiful natural light throughout the day, with trees outside the window that change with the seasons.
Amenities: AC, in-unit washer/dryer, dishwasher, elevator, virtual doorman, package room, and rooftop access. The building is well-maintained. Each floor has trash chute and recycling bin.
I have some furnitures in the space, but I’m very open to rearranging things so it feels like home for both of us. I have a black cat, Machao—he’s very affectionate and well-mannered. We have quite a few plants, and he’s been very respectful of them so far.
Neighborhood: Right on the Clinton Hill / Bed-Stuy border, with a lot of nice spots of bk nearby including Fan Fan donuts, Welcome Home bakery, Stonefruit and the plant shop, Choice Market, Do or Dive, and Entre Nous (La Bicyclette on weekends). YMCA is a few blocks away, and we are close to Pratt brooklyn campus as well.
Getting around Brooklyn is really easy with the B38, B52, and the G train all nearby. It’s about 20–30 minutes to Manhattan, and transferring from the G to the A or F is just a cross-platform connection.
I’m not in a rush and am hoping to find someone who feels like a genuinely good fit. If what I described matches what you’re looking for in a shared home, please reach out with a short intro about yourself. I’d be happy to set up a virtual or in-person meeting on weekends to get to know each other better.
About me: I’m 28F, working as an archivist in the arts, and I’m on-site in Lower Manhattan Monday through Friday. I love food, trying new spots, yoga, and reading. I’m not a party person, but I do enjoy meeting new people and that’s part of life in New York.
I hope you’re in your late 20s and have a thoughtful, easygoing personality, a relatively quiet demeanor, and a similar approach to cleanliness.
In general, you’ll need to meet the building’s requirements, including good credit and stable income. Guarantors are accepted.
The building requires a deposit. Cats are welcomed. Just need to arrange some meet-and-greets to make sure everyone gets along.
