A private upstairs apartment in a large Victorian is available for long-term lease.
Located in the Western Catskill village of Delhi, rent includes bi-monthly house-keeping, fast, reliable internet, utilities and off-street parking with snow-clearing.
The space is floor-through with:
• two sleeping rooms
• a large living / working space
• a small room (that's perfect for an office or dressing room)
• oodles of closet space
• bathroom with a claw foot tub + shower
• a kitchen with a view
* washer /dryer
• more than an acre of yard with gardens and river frontage
If you’re into exquisite natural light, historic architecture and the natural world, this is a very special situation...
No one knows exactly when it was built, but the house is on a map from 1860. Breezy in spring and summer, its the perfect place to celebrate the seasons. You can grow your own veg and flowers from summer to fall and ski out the door to local groomed trails in the colder months.
The property is beautiful. Over an acre of lawn, gardens and mature trees conclude at the little Delaware river — think beavers, herons and eagles — it’s a private slice of park. Plus, there's a 100+ year old two story barn / carriage house that’s waiting for a purpose. So many possibilities!!
The village of Delhi is pretty darn dreamy. Organic groceries, a year-round farmers' market, coffee / pastry shops and cafes, a historic library, a sweet bookshop and a collaborative workspace are all within walking distance.
The arts collective Bushel has a steady calendar of happenings on Main Street, as does Luck Dragon, an art / making supply store that’s housed in a gorgeously restored 19th century building. Bovina, Andes, Hamden, Margaretville, Franklin and Stamford are all a stone’s throw away. The Trailways bus runs daily from Port Authority to the end of the block.
The windows are large and low with beautiful old glass; they're not childproof.
A year-long lease / commitment is preferable, but a 6-month lease is also possible.
I’m a photographer / creative / naturalist. I spend most of my hours creating food justice-related media.
I prioritize kindness and consideration.
I live on the ground floor with a marvelous dog who came to live with me from Tennessee four years ago. She's a big fan of squirrels and cheese.
