About this Service

Looking to get your apartment in order? Moving and want help packing? Have a chaotic storage unit/workspace/event venue? Whatever you need to organize, I'm here to motivate you and get the job done.

My focus is less on aesthetics and more on practicality—busy people don't have time to put their cereal in a different container than the box it came in–so we'll work together to create solutions that fit how you already live your life. The goal isn't to change your routines or add more housework to your plate, but to make your life easier, more efficient, and less cluttered.

Before we start, we'll discuss what kind of approach you prefer: tough love, empathetic, work in silence etc. as well as your goals for the project and expected timeline. We'll also discuss budget, how much creative license you're willing to give me vs how hands on you want to be.

No item you own will shock me (with a few exceptions, obviously). I'm non-judgmental and honestly, no one's apartment is as bad as they seem to think it is. Plus, I like to remind people that I've spent the last decade dating men in their 20s and 30s, so truly, I've seen it all.

I work on a sliding scale based on project size, how long it'll take me to get to you, whether I'll be in charge of bringing stuff over to donation spots/thrift shops and whether I'm also doing research and make purchasing lists for new furniture, storage supplies, etc. I'm open to adding in administrative work such as digitizing documents or finding PDF versions of all your manuals and sticking them in a Google Drive folder (I've done both of these before)

I live in Park Slope but am willing to travel up to an hour by subway each way. I'm also open to traveling beyond the five boroughs but will ask you to cover the cost of transportation.

Please understand that depending on how many people contact me, I may not have time to help everyone and ask that you respect my decision to turn down a job based on time constraints or it not being the right fit.

About this Lister

I'm a full-time freelance writer. I just sold my business and am working on a book proposal so I'm looking to add some variety to my schedule. You can see my writing portfolio at soniaweiser.wordpress.com (I'm also available for hire for that stuff as well)

I'm currently training for the Chicago and New York marathons.

Background and Expertise

I've been helping people organize for the past few years. I started doing it pro bono for people in my local Buy Nothing group after giving up dating and found that I loved having the opportunity to listen to people's stories while helping them declutter their spaces. I've worked on massive projects including storage units and basements as well as smaller projects like closets. I don't mind getting dirty and climbing over things (honestly, I enjoy it).
