We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Production Assistant to support the day-to-day operations of our floral production team. This role is essential to ensuring projects move smoothly from preparation through installation, maintaining efficiency, quality, and a positive studio environment.

This is an on-site position; candidates must be local to our Newburgh studio (within 45 minutes). This is a freelance, contract role compensated at $30/hour, with a guaranteed minimum of 20 hours per week. Most weeks average 40–45 hours, depending on project volume. The role requires availability for nights and weekends; typical days off are Sunday and Tuesday, though this varies.
This position begins with a three-month trial period with potential to move to a permanent role.
Key Responsibilities include
Studio Maintenance:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization across the studio, cooler, vehicles, and all workspaces
- Maintain and update the studio inventory spreadsheet and oversee physical inventory organization
- Ensure tools, buckets, and materials are cleaned, organized, and reset for future use
- Assist with daily production tasks including flower processing, cleaning, vessel prep, and material organization
Project Support:
- Order and manage hard goods (vessels, candles, props, tools) on a per-project basis
- Pick up floral materials from local farms and wholesalers
- Support designers with recipe prep and studio mechanics
- Load, unload, and organize flowers, supplies, rentals, and equipment for events and deliveries
- Assist with on-site installations, breakdowns, and event strike
- Follow production timelines and support the team in meeting deadlines
- Run errands and assist with event logistics, including meals and transportation as needed
Qualifications
- Strong work ethic with a willingness to take initiative
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude and ability to collaborate effectively with a team
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Comfortable with physical work, including lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license and comfort driving production vehicles
- Familiarity with Google Drive (Email, Docs, Sheets, Slides) and basic project or client management software.
- Event production experience is a plus, but not required
