About Me:

I am looking for someone to take over the remainder of my lease beginning in May or June with the possibility of renewing in July.

I’m moving out of my apartment after three wonderful years with one of my best friends. I’m looking for the right person to take my spot rooming with Ian, who is staying on and renewing the lease. Ian has lived in the apartment for five years and plans on continuing his Bushwick residency :)

This is a special apartment - not just because it’s a duplex with two full bathrooms, a shared terrace, and a separate art studio/office, but because it’s been a welcoming home and a creative space for Ian and I while we’ve been here. It’s a spacious, well lit, and calming home.

About Ian:

Ian (30) is a hilarious, kind, queer man (he/him) who loves surfing, playing hockey, making art, and building community. He works as the Director of Overdose Education and Naloxone Distribution for the NYC Health Department. He enjoys hosting friends for dinner, game nights, movie nights, and collaborative art hangs. Ian has lived in the apartment for five years and has become a staple in our neighborhood. Not only has he hosted free monthly Collage Nights in Bushwick for the last few years, he also knows the neighbors in our building and in our neighborhood. He genuinely cares about the spaces he lives and the community here.

Must haves: Respectful, communicative, and community-minded; comfortable sharing space and contributing to a warm, friendly home; responsible and reliable with rent, utilities, and shared upkeep; queer-friendly.

Nice to haves: creative and/or artistic (visual art, music, writing, etc.); enjoys occasional social time at home like shared meals, art-making, or movie nights; values a balance of independence and connection; interested in renewing the lease long-term; appreciates a home that’s both lived-in and intentional.
