3rd floor room — $888.16 rent
Plus utilities (wifi, gas, electric) with one month security deposit.
Moving in November 1st or earlier, flexible and could be discussed.
The House:
Turn of the century, 3 floors (plus a basement), side-by-side duplex with 6 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. There are 3 bedrooms each on the second and third floors. Each floor has its own bathroom and there is a half bath on the ground floor. The home is full of charm: beamed ceilings, millwork throughout, all wood floors, bannisters.
The common areas include a large enclosed front porch, large living and dining rooms, a nice size kitchen with a dishwasher, gas stove, oven, refrigerator, and plenty of common pantry and closet space. There is a washer/dryer in the basement. The house has radiator heating in the winter and we use window units for A/C in the summer. Wifi and utilities are split amongst us, so living costs stay affordable.
The house is maintained by a property management company, and they are usually very responsive and timely with maintenance requests and/or questions and concerns.
The Room:
Small-ish, third floor room, equidistant from the stairs and bathroom. Easily fits a queen size bed, a desk & chair, dresser, and a bedside table. It has one west facing window with lots of light coming through in the afternoon, and a fairly good size closet.
The Housemates:
Currently 2 men, 3 women, around 30 with jobs in multiple different fields and disciples. Friendly and respectful vibe, generally independent. Occasional organic conversations in common areas, maybe watching a movie together once in a while.
We select a roommate as a group, after which there’s a housing application with a credit check. When you move in, your name will be added to the lease along with all the tenants. Current lease ends on March 31st, 2026 and will likely be a small rent increase when it renews for the following year.
First month’s rent and security is necessary to reserve the room.
We would prefer housemates with an intention to stay for at least a year.
The Neighborhood:
Located on Beverley Rd the house is less than a 5 minute walk from the Q Beverley stop and 15 minutes from the F/G at Church avenue. Prospect Park is 10 minutes away. The neighborhood is quiet, park-like. Cortelyou Ave, Church Ave, and Newkirk Ave have a variety of restaurants, shops, bars, coffee shops, and grocery stores to offer.

I have lived in this gorgeous house for just over two years and loved every minute of it. The neighborhood is beautiful and quiet, a perfect oasis for escaping the hustle and bustle of the city. The house itself is roomy and cozy, and the roommates living within are respectful and accommodating. I cannot recommend this living situation highly enough.
