Hello! I'm looking for a roommate to join the lease when it renews on July 1 in a 2Bd/1Ba in Clinton Hill. The apartment is in a lovely brownstone on a quiet but centrally-located block. We're just 1.5 blocks from the Clinton-Washington C train and a short walk to the G train.
The location is pretty hard to beat -- the grocery store, post office, bakery, coffee shop, and pharmacy are all within 1-2 blocks, Prospect Park and Ft. Greene Park are both about a 15-minute walk away, and there are so many great restaurants, bars, and shops along Fulton, Vanderbilt, and Washington Ave.
The available room is slightly smaller, but has a closet, gets lots of sunlight, and my former roommate fit a full bed, small desk and chair, full-length mirror, etc. The common space includes a sizable living room, breakfast nook, kitchen with a dishwasher, and a functional fireplace (which is a real hit in the winter!).
It's overall a cozy and peaceful space; the neighbors are great and the neighborhood feels like home. I do have a cat (Tucci) who is a real sweetheart.
The rent will be $1,600, plus utilities (Wifi/electric/gas) which can vary but usually come to about $80/month each. Laundry is available in a neighboring building and there's a reliable wash and fold service that offers pick up and drop off nearby.
*Note that the decor has changed slightly from these photos, and the room is unfurnished.
I'm Hayley (she/they), I'm 30 and work in local government. I work from the office 4x per week these days, but when I'm at home I love cooking, watching bad television, and tending to my plants. I have a cat named Tucci -- she's very sweet and friendly and slightly chaotic.
I truly love this neighborhood and I'm excited to continue making the apartment feel like home. I'm looking for a roommate who enjoys occasionally bingeing a show together or hosting a small dinner party, but also values solo downtime and maintaining a clean, peaceful space!
Please tell me a bit about yourself and what you're looking for in a roommate. I value open communication about everything that comes with co-habitating. LGBT+ friendly and anti-racist (should go without saying!). Let's chat and see if we'd be a good fit!
First month's rent, plus security deposit. The landlord will require proof of income and a credit check.
