Room for sublet in quiet, spacious two-story condo (2 Bedrooms, 1.5 Bath) with wood floors, beautiful afternoon light, and lovingly curated rooms! Located in Highland Park on Ave 57, about three blocks down from North Figueroa Ave, which is filled with bookshops, coffee shops, and thrift stores.

I’m a graduate student traveling for research this summer (May - August) and would love to sublet my room to someone who will enjoy the plants, books, and amazing neighborhood. Dates are flexible, but would prefer someone who can stay at least two months. The roommate who will be here with you is Niki (30, they/them), working in-office most days. Niki is from LA, so they’re the perfect person for an intro to the city's hidden gems. They'll be your go-to for any potential issues that come up, although I will also be very reachable via phone. Niki also has a tiny older dog named Barley, who is incredibly sweet and chill (and easy to ignore if you are not interested). I am not really a dog person, and I love hanging out with Barley. Apartment vibes are quiet, tidy. Not a place to throw ragers, but we do have little dinner parties from time to time.

Rent is $1100, plus utilities (usually 50-75/month).

- Fully furnished bedroom upstairs with new queen sized-bed and mattress protector, lots of storage space, big beautiful plants indoors and outdoors. Will provide bedding and towels if desired!
- High ceilings, AC units in the living room and bedrooms (though the downstairs stays quite cool naturally)
- Condo has a private patio area outdoors, with my small garden of tomatoes, eggplant, and zinnias
- Plentiful street parking
- Gated condo complex with lush plants and trees. About 15-20 other units in the complex, but the space as a whole is usually fairly quiet.
- Big in-ground pool with palm trees and lounge chairs!
- Washers/dryers 1-minute walk inside the complex
- Fast wifi, all streaming services on big TV in living room
-Air purifier in living room and bedrooms
- Fully equipped kitchen and modern appliances, including dishwasher, blender, tea kettle, air fryer, Kitchen Aid mixer, immersion blender, etc. I think we even have an ice cream maker somewhere.
- 8 minutes walk from Highland Park metro station (A line). You're welcome to take my student pass for the summer, which gives you free transit access!
- Tons of restaurants, coffee shops (Civil Coffee, Highly Likely, Comet over Delphi), thrift stores within 5-10 minutes walking distance. Two grocery stores also within easy walking distance, and a fancy little artisanal grocery store even closer (5 mins). Happy to give my favorite recs!
- Very close (15 mins driving) to other fun neighborhoods, including Silver Lake, Echo Park, etc. 20 mins drive to Pasadena.

Hi, my name is Elaina (they/them)! I’m a PhD student in History at USC, traveling to the East Coast for summer research. I love a gentle breeze, lots of plants, and stacks of books in my apartment.

I rent this apartment along with Niki, who works for a video game records company. The apartment complex and this neighborhood are very special to us for being respectively chill and fun. It's full of bright green trees and shrubs, and the sun is usually shining (it’s LA!).
