I am seeking an experienced and easy to work with woodshop tech to assist me in my studio in northern Greenpoint. I work for a variety of designers and private clients making kitchens, custom furniture and other bespoke items.
Ideal candidate should have experience in a cabinetry shop, is detail oriented, organized, methodical, good at receiving feedback and problem solving.
Experience/ familiarity with all or some of the following is ideal: Milling rough lumber with a jointer & planer, operating a sliding table saw, traditional joinery with hand tools, solid and plywood construction, knowledge on reading shop drawings, sanding and oil finishing. Proficiency with Sketchup and personal hand tools are a plus.
This is a freelance gig and will be at least 25-30 hours a week, depending on needs and schedule. Starting pay is $35/ hour with pay increases based on performance.
This is not a learn on the job gig, so please only apply if you have all/ some of the experience listed above. There may be intern/ apprentice opportunities in the future.
