Seeking sublet for month or two

Seeking Living Space

Location

Williamsburg, DUMBO, West Village, East Village, Midtown, Hells Kitchen, LES, Brooklyn, Manhattan

Available

October 1, 2024 - November 16, 2024

Would definitely prefer Brooklyn, but open to potential places in mid or lower Manhattan (just would like to be close-ish to train stations for the commute to SoHo for work)

Preferred vibes (but not all required)
- Budget of ~$3500/month (can be flexible for a great spot)
- Would love a space with decent amount of light (so no basement spaces, sorry)
- I’m learning that in-unit washer/dryer is a luxury there.... but if you have it, that would be awesome.
- Some kind of AC would be super cool, but it's not a strong requirement
- I try to cook often, so the bare minimum of cooking supplies would be dope.
- No garden/street-level apartments (sorry, they just aren't for me, I'm a light sleeper)
- The space can be furnished (preferred), but I don’t mind furnishing the space myself
- Good WiFi (please)
- Carbon monoxide and smoke alarms would be great (because ya know, safety first)

About This Lister

Hey! My name is Dominic, also go by Dom, pronouns are he/him. I’m 28 years old and a software engineer. I just had a sublease here in NYC for the last 3 months to experience what it would be like living here (and whether or not I would want to move here), but I am still unconvinced, so I decided I want to do another sublease for the autumn (October, maybe November). Before my sublease that I had in Crown Heights, I spent the last four years living in Oakland, California. I am currently in Oakland right now, but I will be back in NYC on September 30th for work, and subsequently, the sublease that I am seeking)

If it ends up being a roommate situation, what I look for in a roommate is pretty simple really: consideration, friendliness, cleanliness, and positive vibes. If you're someone who values open communication, respects personal space, and doesn't mind the occasional chill conversation about random stuff, I assure you that we’ll probably get along just fine. I'm pretty easy-going and adaptable. I have a bit of a knack for keeping things neat and organized.

I can provide a reference from 2 previous landlords (a place I rented in 2019 when I first moved to Oakland, and the sublease I just had during the early summer in Crown Heights in Brooklyn). My previous place of living before this sublease was in a luxury building in Oakland where I rented from a management company, so I can’t really provide a reference for that place (but I can show pictures of the place and you can talk to my former neighbors if you still want a reference)

If the space is already furnished, that would be super cool.

As far as my working environment, I can be out of the house for most of the day for most days as I try to go to the office daily (assuming I have the capability to do so without hitch). It's pretty important to me that the place is somewhat close to public transportation.

Other notable personality traits:
- I do not smoke
- I only drink socially
- hobbies include reading, photography, and learning spanish
- outgoing introvert (I am very kind & friendly, but will usually keep to myself once my social battery is drained)
