A sunny, partially furnished 14' by 16' room (the larger of two bedrooms) and primary use of the bigger bathroom in this charming apartment in a classic prewar elevator building with round-the-clock doormen. It's in a lively residential neighborhood that offers several good restaurants and grocery stores (Whole Foods, Gristedes, and Trader Joe's) and a variety of shops. You would be around the corner from a Broadway bus stop, a few blocks from the 96th Street subway entrance, and a quick walk from the lovely Riverside Park.
The room has 2 closets, a parquet floor, and 2 large windows (an air conditioner in one of them). Its furnishings include a full-size captain's bed with 3 storage drawers built into its platform, a bedside table, a desk and desk chair, a multi-use shelf with glass doors, and several lamps.
You would have access to the building's laundry room and would be welcome to share my internet and cable services for a portion of their costs.
I'm a retired senior who likes my apartment kept neat and clean. Interests include music, singing, film, theater, literature, politics, and psychology, as well as the Yankees and Knicks. My kids and my adorable grandson are of major importance to me.
I'm seeking a responsible, trustworthy female who doesn't smoke, use drugs, or drink to excess.
Application requirements include proof of income and 3 written references from professionals other than family members or friends (e.g. doctors, lawyers, bosses). Both one month's rent and a security deposit must be paid prior to your move-in.
Contact me to arrange a telephone conversation and, if there's mutual interest in your potential rental, a convenient time for you to see the room.
