A Special Opportunity to Rent a Room at a Greek Villa — During Corfu Open Gardens
Each spring, as Corfu comes into bloom, the island opens a number of private gardens to visitors as part of the Corfu Garden Festival — a unique moment when spaces usually closed to the public can be experienced, offering a glimpse into Mediterranean garden design and ways of living with the landscape.
Corfu, one of the Greek Ionian islands, has a long Venetian history, reflected in both its architecture and its landscapes. Corfu Town is a UNESCO World Heritage site, known for its narrow streets and layered influences.
This is a special opportunity to rent a room at Villa Eumelia during this period. The house is set in the hills near Corfu Town, surrounded by olive trees and countryside, yet just 10 minutes from Corfu Town and within easy reach of the gardens and coast by car.
During your stay, you can visit the Open Gardens across the island, as well as take part in a wider programme of workshops — from ceramics and nature walks to botanical and craft-based sessions. Guests explore independently, with guidance on routes, timings, and recommended gardens.
One day during the week, I host a botanical dyeing and flower printing workshop at the house, using plants gathered from the surrounding landscape. You’re welcome to join.
The house is shared with a small number of guests and with me, along with three friendly dogs and a cat. It’s a relaxed,
home, best suited to those comfortable around animals.
The space is quiet and light-filled, suited to those looking for a slower, more considered stay — whether working, reading, or spending time outdoors. This is a particularly good fit for gardeners, and those interested in landscape.
Villa Eumelia is not a hotel, but a lived-in home and creative space.
The rate for this period is €900 for the stay.
A limited number of rooms are available.
