About this Service

I support artists and institutions through strategic project development and programming.

My aim is always to craft innovative ways to deliver an artist’s vision to the audiences, whether in a museum, gallery, festival setting, online or within the institutional framework. I offer building fundraising, production and outreach plans, research and development assistance, roadmapping, grant writing, and mentoring.

I work with visual artists, interdisciplinary artists and filmmakers to help them define the concepts and context of their projects, and find the necessary creative tools and team members for the artwork production. I’m especially good at helping the artist find their distinctive voice and package their projects for pitching/fundraising purposes—through writing artist statements, film treatments and proposals, editing and sequencing images, and developing pitch decks. I design distribution and outreach strategies to help the artworks and films reach audiences, especially outside the usual circuits.

For art institutions and non-profits I’m available for consulting services focused on creative development, project packaging and fundraising. Rates vary upon the project.

For one-to-one sessions with artists, I charge a fee of $120-150 per hour, depending on a task, and can offer a sliding scale for those in need. For extended work I’m happy to provide discounted project fees.

How we can work together:
My holistic and innovative approach is centered on your needs and the subject matter that drives your project. I can join you on part of your project’s journey or oversee projects from start to finish (organizations), from idea to distribution (artists).

I will be present for your work or artistic practice, and utilize my network to find the best vessels to carry your ideas to diverse audiences and to potential funders.

About this Lister

I’m an experienced visual arts leader focused on artist support, strategic project development and programming for arts/culture organizations. As an independent curator and arts producer I work on the intersection of photography, moving image, performance and emerging media, and assist artists across disciplines and markets. I curated over twenty exhibitions and festival programs, produced award-winning art and storytelling projects, lectured and taught workshops worldwide. I was a founding member of Vessel, international art+film production collective, and co-founder of cross platform production Screen in New York. I’m particularly drawn to arts and communication projects addressing environmental issues and climate emergency.

My artistic practice explores the intertwined memories, histories and traumas of humans and the land, how we and landscapes process violence, and how we might heal. I’m interested in how our various geographies are connected through colonial past, extraction economy, displacement, and the future of the natural world. My image-making is interconnected with my engagement with other artists and communities, and is heavily influenced by collaboration with advocates, scientists, and research.

I'm a stroke and cancer survivor. I am based in Portland, OR.
