Darling is looking for a Studio and Retail Associate to both work in the retail store as well as with event management and marketing assistance. Retail responsibilities include opening and closing the retail space, greeting and assisting customers, keeping the story tidy and organized, photographing the store for social channels, and representing the Darling brand with a playful and joyful demeanor. Further responsibilities include tagging, steaming and ironing vintage clothing, and overseeing events and rentals in the back garden. Successful candidates will possess experience in retail and an interest in vintage, supporting small brands, and shopping locally.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Customer Assistance
Greet customers, fostering a high touch, warm, and welcoming shopping experience.
Drive sales through sharing product knowledge and shopping help
Connect with clients daily to drive traffic, including building a clientele book
Consistently meet sales goals
Oversee weekend events in the back garden as required
Store upkeep
Open and close the store securely, following procedures
Maintain inventory throughout the store, remerchandise and restock as needed
Ensure the sales floor is clean– including dusting, taking out trash and restocking bathroom
Monitor music and temperature to ensure a pleasant shopping experience
Studio Assistance
Assist in repairing, washing, ironing and restoring vintage clothing
Tag, sort, and unbox stock
Photograph the store for Instagram
Assist in planning and organizing events
Misc store needs such as running errands, moving store fixtures, etc.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND AVAILABILITY
Minimum of 2 years retail or similar customer-facing experience
Ability to capture aesthetic images of the retail space
Basic sewing skills
Interest in working with a new and growing brand
Vintage knowledge is a plus
Shopify knowledge is a plus
Must be able to lift 40 lbs for this position
Full weekend availability and at Wednesday and Thursday availability required
COMPENSATION
$25/hour at approximately 20-30 hours per week. Accrued sick and vacation days. Opportunities for growth.
