Hi listers! I will be away from the city through the end of April and am looking to connect with someone who can make use of my cozy apartment in Brooklyn Heights while I'm away. I have some flexibility with the dates and am open to exploring different arrangements with the right fit. Let me know in your message what your needs are :)
About the building/neighborhood:
You'll be on the 2nd floor of a prewar apartment building on a quiet, tree-lined street next to Brooklyn Bridge Park. There are only eight units, so there's a community vibe among the tenants and we tend to look out for each other. The building is well cared for but has not been gut rennovated, so it comes with both the charm and challenges typical of its age.
There’s a great coffee shop and laundromat across the street, a dreamy little Italian restaurant on the corner, and a short walk to shopping/groceries/bakeries/restaurants on Montague, Atlantic Ave. and Court Street.
About the apartment:
The apartment has lots of light and a bohemian vibe with a kitchen (with a large, courtyard-facing window where my plants live); bathroom; living area; and a small but highly functional work/office space with an adjustable sit-stand desk.
The bedroom has a queen bed with a super comfy, organic bamboo hybrid pillow-top mattress, Brooklinen sheets and a street-facing window with a fire escape that stretches over to the living room window. There’s also a smart TV with Hulu, HBO Max, Disney+, etc., wall-mounted in the bedroom.
The apartment is clean and fully furnished but uncluttered, with plenty of storage space for your things. I've cleared out the left half of the closet (built-in IKEA PAX system), a larger drawer in the bedroom and an entryway storage bench for your use.
I pay for electricity, cooking gas and internet/Wi-Fi; those costs are included in the sublet price.
I (she/her) am a former journalist, currently working as a freelancer in research-based content and marketing, who has been living in NYC for the past 12 years. I fell in love with and moved into this apartment in March 2021. My neighbors are awesome and relatively quiet, and I have a good relationship with our landlord/building manager, who lives nearby. I'll be your go-to contact and will share his information for emergencies.
I've had nothing but great experiences on all sides of renting apartments/subleasing/subletting through Listing Project over the years and am so grateful for this community <3
We'll both sign/agree to a simple sublease agreement and you'll pay the agreed upon rent, plus a $500 refundable security deposit.
