Hi there,
We have a room opening up in our wonderful 4 bed, 2 bath Boerum Hill apartment. Our roommate is moving to Vermont, and the room will be available December 1st, possibly as early as November 15th.
The available room is approximately $1050 (may go up slightly with rent increase this year by $20 or so dollars/month). The room does not have a closet, but there is a walk-in closet in the apartment shared by the tenant of this room & one other roommate. Utilities typically end up being about $100 per person a month (internet, gas, electricity), sometimes a little less, sometimes a little more depending on the season.
The apartment is rent stabilized (yay), and is on the third floor. We have a small, lovely patio that looks over the backyard of the building - ideal spot for a morning coffee. We have coin operated laundry in the basement of the building - there is also a laundromat right across the street. We are located right off Smith Street near the Bergen F/G stop, with lots of great restaurants, coffee shops, and bars right nearby.
We are looking for a roommate who is in their late 20s/30s, already lives in NY. As a group, we are all friendly and social, but very much have our own lives. We have the occasional roommate movie night, but are busy people who largely keep our own schedules. We give the group a heads up when we are having people over, and keep shared spaces clean.
One roommate, (E), is currently in a grad program, and one wakes up early for work, (K), so we respect quiet hours in the evenings. The home is generally a peaceful space, though we gladly welcome the occasional dinner party/wine night/friend hang with adequate notice.
The apartment is well-furnished (kitchen is equipped for cooking, living room has a couch, projector, dining table, etc.). We have a dishwasher, and try to avoid leaving dishes in the sink for more than a few hours.
Current roommates:
E, man in his 30s, currently in a science/medical grad program. Often studying, but when not, is a great cook, runner, and occasional surfer.
K, woman in her 30s, who works as a nurse. A ray of sunshine who is often out and about exploring Brooklyn with friends, taking Pilates classes, or seeing live music.
J, woman in her 30s, works in tenant rights. Plays a lot of rec soccer, loves going to free events & shows around the city. To let us know you've read this entire listing, please put Popcorn in the title of your email.
If you think this sounds like a good match, please reach out & we can set up a time to speak.
Thank you!
