Location: Upper West Side
Pay: $ 30/hour*
Please note: Staff will eventually need to sign up with an outside disability benefits agency should they accept this position
Schedule:
Please note that this schedule is subject to change. If you have some of the availability below but not all of it – we encourage you to apply anyway!
-Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2:45 - 5:45pm
-Saturdays and Sundays from 12 - 4pm
Job Requirements:
-Experience as a caregiver for a young adult with disabilities
-Experience working with people with who have difficulties with expressive language
-Willingness to be flexible and creative to support adults with various needs and challenges
-Ability to remain calm under pressure and experience using de-escalation techniques
-Strong communication skills
Job Responsibilities: Your responsibilities may include some or all of the following tasks:
-Support with arranging group activities and coordinating transportation; accompany the individual when appropriate.
-Assist with daily living skills (ADLs) to ensure the individual stays safe and clean, including keeping his space tidy, supporting personal hygiene, checking/responding to messages, and scheduling social appointments.
-Track and log detailed notes on wellbeing and ADL progress.
-Coordinate with the client’s team to ensure seamless care; participate in weekly team meetings to review progress and discuss needs.
-Help regulate and de-escalate client if/when he has trouble regulating himself
About Us
We work with families to provide direct case management support for their adult children with disabilities. One of the many things we do is help recruit staff people for families.
