I am the owner of an old schoolhouse in rural Pennsylvania with a furnished private room & bathroom available for short-term rentals of any length from 7 - 28 days. Previous tenants and artists have stayed at the schoolhouse to write, study and relax.

The room itself is about 700 sq feet with three beds - two twins and a full bed. Heating and AC are provided, along with a mini fridge and dining table, sofa and TV. Room has a private entrance with off-street free parking.

Potential renters are welcome to apply as a small group with a max capacity of 3 people. Children are also welcome, however house is not childproofed. Home has three steps to enter.

The bathroom has a bathtub, sink and laundry. I still need access to the bathroom as needed to do laundry, which is usually at least once a week, sometimes more.

Kitchen is shared and is newly renovated. Tenants are allowed to use all items in the kitchen except food and beverage purchased by the owner.

I do have a cat, so please keep that in mind. Tenants are not allowed to bring pets.

Rent is:
$600 for 7 days
$900 for 14 days
$1,200 for 28 days

$50 per person per week charge applies for groups of 2 or more to account for higher utility expense and more supplies used, like toilet paper, dish soap, etc. Charge is waived for stays of 28 days in length.

I'm an artist originally from San Francisco and formerly a New York City resident for over a decade. I run an artist residency program called The Micro-Residency at Bischoff Inn. From time to time, artists from the program will gather at the Schoolhouse and there will be opportunities to socialize.
