Open Source Gallery is a 501(c)(3) organization with a working Board of Directors who volunteer their time to ensure maximum impact. Open Source strives to support and promote excellence in board service; our Board of Directors comprises leaders from a diverse array of backgrounds who are dedicated to the organization’s mission.

Open Source Gallery currently seeks a new Treasurer, who will be part of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors, a position which comes with more responsibilities than joining as a general Board Member. The Treasurer position will bring a financial lens to strategic planning and decision making.

Relevant experience:
- Expertise in bookkeeping and using Quickbooks
- Expertise in reviewing and interpreting financial information
- Experience in providing financial oversight of nonprofit organizations

Responsibilities:
- Meet regularly to review the organization’s finances with the Executive Director
- Meet regularly with the Executive Committee to provide oversight for the organization
- Attend Board meetings quarterly
- Attend gallery show openings and programming in general, including the annual fundraiser each December
- Act as an advocate and ambassador for the organization

Open Source Gallery is based in the South Slope, Brooklyn and is an arts-based nonprofit organization inspired by the open source movement. In the spirit of this free exchange of knowledge, we provide a forum where art intersects with the community and the world at large. Open Source energizes a diverse and creative community for people of all ages and backgrounds with an emphasis on expression, experimentation, sustainability, and social engagement.

Part of Open Source is also KoKo, which focuses on kids. All kids are artists & inventors. We encourage playful and imaginative risk-taking by using real tools and recycled materials in our sustainability focused programs. Empowered by our Teaching Artists, kids see possibilities, problem solve, create, and explore.
