Hello and thank you for stopping by. I currently have a furnished room for rent in Kensington (Brooklyn) for $1,100/month plus utilities (WiFi and ConEd). No lease. Month-to-Month. See photos attached.
The apartment is a short 5-minute walk from the F train (Ditmas stop) and a 15-minute walk to the Q train (Cortelyou stop),
It's also a 15-minute walk to Prospect Park, 3 short subway stops to Prospect Park, and about a 45 minute commute to Midtown Manhattan.
Additional info:
• The common living room is spacious and gets wonderful daylight.
• Your room would be in the back of the apartment and therefore extremely quiet and peaceful.
• Apt has WiFi, fresh linens and towels, and a well-stocked kitchen.
• There's a laundry room in the basement of the building.
More about the neighborhood…
• Kensington is a family-oriented neighborhood that boasts one of the city’s most ethnically-diverse communities (being comprised of Bengali, Russian, Mexican, Pakistani, Ukranian, Polish, and Hasidic Jewish residents).
To get a better sense of the area, check out these articles in AM New York and the New York Times:

Some nearby neighborhood amenities include a CVS Pharmacy, a few bodegas, yummy pizza (Randazzo's), a vegan restaurant (Ginger), an Uzbek restaurant (Tandir), a Central Asian restaurant (Taj Kebob), a butcher shop, dry cleaner, and the requisite 99 cent stores.
If you walk about 10-15 minutes to Ditmas Park, you will find a small but lively bar and restaurant scene. Here are some places I recommend there:

Other Thing to Note:
Although this may not be the 'hippest' of neighborhoods, I take pride in living in a section of Brooklyn that has not been gentrified.
Bottom line...if you want an affordable and authentic Brooklyn experience, you’d probably be a good fit!
