Kintsugi Workshop Instructor (SF Bay Area)
We're building a team at the exciting crossroads of art, design, and wellbeing, and we're looking for an on-call instructor to help us teach this class www.freshair.id/sugi.
Background valued: meditation, Eastern philosophy, craft-oriented art practice, and minimalist/wabi-sabi design. We know expertise in all areas is rare—a solid foundation in 2-3 is what we're looking for.
We've found: Very punctual, confident personalities have been the best fit for these classes so far.
This role is on-call, with typical shifts lasting 3-4 hours starting in the afternoons (around 2-3 PM). You'll earn a minimum of $250 per shift, with additional bonuses for classes exceeding 16 participants.
Requirements:
Fluid and Quick to Learn: Must demonstrate a strong willingness to learn about Kintsugi techniques and philosophy. (Note: Kintsugi techniques are quick to learn).
Related Background: A background or understanding of the concepts and references utilized in Zen meditation, ceramics, design, and teaching workshops.
Teaching Abilities:
Art Process Demonstration: Ability to efficiently and effectively demonstrate an art process.
Space Facilitation: Ability to hold a relaxing, supportive, and fun space, and effectively answer questions from participants.
Logistical Requirements (San Francisco Specific):
Materials Handling: Ability to pick up class materials in the Bay Area (e.g., Oakland/Berkeley) and transport them to the class location on time.
Transportation: Must have the ability to get around via public transportation if located in San Francisco, or possess a car for wider Bay Area travel.
Punctuality: Must be punctual and arrive at the class location on time.
Availability:
On-Call Basis: Teachers will be on call initially, with scheduling as needed.
Future Availability: Anticipate a weekly need of one class per instructor by summer.
