This is a 2000 sq. ft. artist loft on the third floor of a 5-story industrial brick building. We are seeking a long-term roommate. The room is the primary bedroom, 25' x 12' with 2 closets and an eastern-facing window. Room has a sliding double door to open the space up to a large living room with large, sunny southern windows. Room is semi-furnished with desk, bed and dresser.

Amenities include extra storage space, washer & dryer in apartment and a very comfortable public space. There is indoor bike storage. The elevated JMZ train stops in front of our building. The room for rent is in the center of the loft and the quietest. our neighborhood is vibrant - Los Sures LatinX vibes to the north and Hasidic culture to the south. Artistic hipster culture is everywhere with book and record stores, as well as the country's best nightlife. We are 10 blocks from Domino Park and a 20 min. walk to N. Williamsburg.

We are working musicians with studios and are open to another creative who wants to use the bedroom as a work studio. It is a big space with 10' ceilings. We are friendly with both our neighbors next door and upstairs. The building is quiet and has nice cross ventilation in warmer months. With rustic hard wood floors, they can be cold in winter. Our space is weatherized. The elevator is manual and cannot be summoned.

Street parking is plentiful. Police, grocer, cafe, bookstore, 24-hr. bodega, drugstore, multiple restaurants (vegan, pizza, Mexican, Indian, Persian, Dominican) all within a block. Gym 4 blocks away, as well as a community garden we help manage within blocks. Cross-streets are Broadway & Hewes St. in 11211 area code.

About This Lister

We are mature musicians and longtime residents who spend our time reading, cooking, studying and playing music (it is a quiet place, we use headphones a lot and schedule practice time ahead.) We work in retail and service combined with work-at-home hours. We don't bring the party home so much anymore, but roommate is welcome to entertain in what is a huge NYC apartment.

Rental requirements

First month's rent, a $2100 security deposit, as well as a personal reference and an interview with us. Sorry, no pets, no cigarette smoking. Looking to rent to 1 person only. This is not a child-proof space. There is an outdoor space for weed smoking or visitors to smoke. We are very LGBTQ-friendly and you must also be. We are an inter-racial couple. We are very friendly and open and expect someone akin to our ideals: healthy, positive, community-driven and passionate towards life. With laundry available, we expect no foul odors. Rent includes utilities, Wifi and cleaning of the public spaces. We have generally been "no work at home," but with changing times, we are open to flexibility and the room accommodates an office space. Let's discuss. We are looking for at least a year commitment with a 90-day assessment to ensure everyone's happiness.
