We are looking for a reliable, highly-organized, and committed candidate to join our rapidly-growing small business as the part-time Operations & Wholesale Manager. A strong interest in operations and logistics is key, as this role involves overseeing supply chain, manufacturing and fulfillment - while ensuring our small but growing group of retail partners have what they need. This is a critical job; you will work directly with the founders and key partners and hit the ground running. This position is part-time and located in our Brooklyn studio, with opportunity for growth.
Responsibilities
Supply Chain + Inventory Management
- Inventory planning – monitor inventory levels and sales trends (using demand planning tools) to ensure optimal stock availability. Develop replenishment strategies to support product drops and to prevent gaps in availability.
- Raw material and component procurement - oversee the sourcing and purchasing of certain raw materials, ensuring timely delivery to manufacturing or 3PL partners.
- Cross team collaboration - be in touch with founders and marketing lead to align on inventory planning with product launches, promotions and seasonal moments.
- Relationships - Maintain relationships with our key operation partners, ensuring open, honest, clear communication to support our mutual efforts and joint success.
- Reporting - Track raw and finished goods inventory and provide weekly inventory reports for the team and accounting.
Wholesale Partnerships
- Partner management – Serve as the primary point of contact for indie retail and wholesale accounts, ensuring seamless order processing, timely fulfillment and great customer service. Provide support for inquiries, product updates and account needs.
- Order and inventory coordination – Oversee the end-to-end process of wholesale and custom/bespoke orders. Collaborate with manufacturing and logistics to meet deadlines.
- EDI compliance and system management – ensure all EDI transactions are processed correctly and in compliance with retailer requirements.
- Optimization and reporting – Continuously evaluate and improve wholesale order workflow, EDI process and partner communications. Generate reports on sales performance, order trends, and metrics to inform business growth.
Miscellaneous
- Support new product development – there will be times throughout the year where we will need support on sourcing and testing new scents, potentially sourcing new components and/or running point on changes in existing components
- Be an advocate for quality control and ensure standards are followed. Troubleshoot any problems with partners swiftly and with a focus on creating the best outcome for the end customer.
