We’re subletting our recently renovated old house in Beacon, NY. It’s on a quiet street, only a 5-minute walk to historic Main Street, filled with cafés, restaurants, an indie movie theater, bookstores, and the Saturday farmer's market—easy, everyday walkability.
The house has one large bedroom with a queen-size bed, and two smaller bedrooms that we currently use as offices (they work well for remote work or creative space). One full bathroom with a tub upstairs, and a half bath downstairs.
Good natural light. Old-house character with updates where you want them.
Washer/dryer in the basement. Small backyard.
The neighborhood is one of the best parts of being here. Beacon has a real arts community (Dia Beacon, galleries, music at the Howland and Towne Crier), and there’s quick access to the river and trailheads when you want to be outside. Beacon’s beauty is the way mountain, river, and town meet at a human scale—you can walk to the Mt. Beacon trailhead, the scenic Hudson River waterfront, and Main Street in a single afternoon.
Metro-North to NYC is about 70 minutes on the express, so it’s feasible to be connected to the city.
We are a semi-retired married couple originally from Brooklyn, and we will be traveling abroad during your stay.
