Hi there! We're looking to find someone to join our lease and fill the soon-to-be empty room in our sunny 3 bedroom apartment in Crown Heights. Keep reading for more details :)
Our roommate has begun a home ownership journey, so we're looking for someone to take over for her on the lease for the remainder of its term (August-September) and then re-sign with us October 1st.
Location: 10/10
Our location is really wonderful. We're a 2 minute walk from the Franklin Medgar station, a 2 minute walk from a yoga studio, 1 minute walk from laundry. Lots of restaurants, lots of coffee shops, a handful of good bars. A street full of cute dogs.
Cleanliness: 7.5/10
We all proactively pick up after ourselves and embark on independent cleaning projects on an as-needed basis.
Friendliness/chattiness: 8.5/10
The present house is pretty close knit and we’d love to find someone who’s open and friendly while respecting mutual boundaries. (IE: you will never be trapped in conversation, but sometimes we all go to the bar next door to watch the Knicks lose.)
Coolness: 10/10
We’re great.
About you:
Our ideal roommate is someone who's settled into life here in New York, has experience living with other people, and is somewhere between our respective ages (mid twenties to early 30s). Communicative & kind.
If this sounds like a good fit, shoot us an email and introduce yourself/include any links to social media. Our roommate departs at the end of July and we would like her replacement to be on the lease. It is possible there will be an easing-in period of a 1 month sublet to determine that it’s the right fit for everyone, but we’re hoping to give someone a real home (and all the things a home entails: community, a well cared for shared space).
Other:
There's a <1 year old, professionally installed AC in the room that you can buy for $70.
You would be living with 2 women, Anai (24) and Sam (30). Anai works in politics and Sam works in the arts. We both have busy schedules and work in-office during the week. Ideally we’re looking for someone with a similar work schedule. We have progressive politics.
The landlord will ask to perform a background check and for proof of income.
Pets are allowed by the building, but because none of us have had a pet in the apartment historically I'm not sure if there's a deposit.
