Hi, I'm Laura!
I was a c-suite executive assistant to female founders and business owners for over 10 years before starting my independent consulting and coaching business four years ago.
I support a variety of service-based businesses with general business advising/consulting, leadership coaching, and documentation and tech implementation.
I call myself a "Micro COO" (my previous clients have called me their “freelance boss”), but I love the leadership coaching element I provide to clients. It's one thing to be given a road map for what to do, but it's quite another to figure out how to get there!
Example of work I’ve done with a current client:
⦿ Reviewed organizational documents, including mission and vision statements and current business plan.
⦿ Led a two hour strategic planning session for her to develop and get feedback on her annual business plan.
⦿ Advised on the compiling of annual financial projections with quarterly reviews, as well as a list of current and future clients.
⦿ Advised on client communication and management with a framework on how to qualify clients based on short-term and long-term ROI.
⦿ Provided resources and templates for her to develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and organizational documentation for her small, remote team.
⦿ Coached through difficult client and team conversations, which led to better outcomes for all.
⦿ Provided advising on current project management tools and guided her through a light software selection framework to adopt a more robust PM system.
My consulting and coaching:
⦿ Is rooted in my core values to be strengths-based, data-driven and inclusive.
⦿ Developed to empower you as a leader and decision maker. I’m here as a guide, not a guru.
⦿ Equal parts empathetic listener and practical action taker. Self-reflection leads to thoughtful action.
⦿ Takes into account your own rhythms and cadences as a business owner and leader.
⦿ Helps you to cultivate a company culture that creates both ownership and development within your team.
Feedback I’ve received from clients:
“You’re not looking to take opportunities to increase my dependence on you.”
“You are very balanced. You are very empathetic and in touch with what I need, but also very pragmatic in offering support and recommendations that are truly helpful.” “You’ve helped me with my mindset far more than any other coach whose sole focus was ‘mindset’.”
More about me:
I'm currently studying organizational design and social identity development at City College. I love discussing the intersections of systems, identity, and getting things done with other people, especially in remote settings. It's been the theme of my life so far!
⦿ I love jigsaw puzzles, must be at least 1K pieces.
⦿ I'm a mom to three amazing kids and wife to an award-winning journalist.
⦿ I am working on a nonprofit project this year that I am super excited about.
⦿ I am a psychology nerd. My favorite author right now is Lisa Feldman Barrett.
⦿ I have one more year until graduation! I am already planning THE BIGGEST PARTY.
In addition to 10+ years of directly supporting founders and business owners, I have 17+ years of operations experience working with small, service-based distributed teams in a variety of industries. I've been a member of the Association of Accredited Small Business Consultants (AASBC) for nearly four years, and was a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) for several years. I have been trained under Layla Pomper's Process Driven Foundations method and have over five years of additional training in several project management tools such as Asana, ClickUp, Monday.com, GoogleWorkspace, and more. I'm currently studying organizational design and social identity development at the CUNY Graduate Center and City College.
