Hello! I’m Paul and I’m looking for someone to sublet my bedroom in a two-bedroom apartment in Bushwick from January 5 to May 14. There is some flexibility with the move-in date, but as I will return on May 15, May 14 is the latest move-out date available. Rent is $1450 a month, utilities (wifi, electric, gas) are roughly $100 a month, and a security deposit of $1300 (which will be returned after move-out) is required.
The apartment is in a prewar building and has both laundry in-unit and a dishwasher! Both the kitchen and the living room are fully furnished (including an air fryer). All of the rooms in the apartment get a lot of natural light, and our neighbors are nice and considerate. I’ve lived in this apartment for five years and hope to stay in it for years to come!
My room is a nice size, with an elevated full-size memory foam bed with space for storage underneath, a desk and office chair, a five-drawer dresser, a nightstand, an AC unit (covered up for winter), a radiator, and a closet. Additionally, I have multiple lamps, candles, mirrors, blankets, and decorations to give my room a cozy feel. This would be ideal for grad students studying in NYC during the spring semester, as well as people looking for a fully-furnished space.
The apartment itself is located two blocks away from the Myrtle-Broadway J/M/Z and 15 minutes from the Morgan Avenue L. Additionally, there are multiple bus routes (B54, B46, B47, B57) that run close by. There are a few parks within a 15 minute radius (with Maria Hernández Park being the biggest) and many good options for food and drink.
The building is also cat-friendly! When you inquire, please let me know:
* When you’d like to move in
* If you are looking for a fully-furnished room

A bit about me, I’m 26 and I’m currently a second-year law student who’s pretty involved in left-wing politics and community organizing. I have lived in this apartment for five years and love it. While I am studying abroad in Argentina, my roommate, Noah, will still be around! He is a 27 year old who works for a university in Manhattan with similar political views. He is looking for a roommate who is clean, respectful, friendly, timely, comfortable with occasional guests, and able to use and maintain shared spaces equally. Likewise, he would like someone who is appreciative of our neighborhood and considerate of our neighbors.
Please message if you’re interested or have any questions!
My roommate and I will ask you to sign a sublet agreement and we will ask you to provide proof of income (paystubs/direct deposit or student loan information will do).
As mentioned before, the deposit is $1300 but will be returned in full so long as no furniture is damaged. Likewise, we will ask for first month’s rent before move-in to secure your spot here.
Cats are allowed.
