We are offering a furnished bedroom in our beloved triplex brownstone home in central Park Slope from June 1, 2026 to January 31, 2027 (fixed sublet, dates not flexible). I will be away for research abroad, and am returning.
The room is a good size and comes furnished with a full-size bed, closet, dresser, desk, and built-in bookshelf. Most of my belongings will remain in the room, but I will make dedicated space for your clothes and books. It has a lovely view overlooking the backyards of Park Slope and gets beautiful morning light. A built-in air conditioner is also included.
We are three women (ages 34–44) looking for a fourth woman (30+) to join us temporarily. One of us is a science postdoc at NYU/Columbia, one works as an education developer, and the third works in climate policy. We share a love for the arts, literature, and intentional living.
Our home is our quiet sanctuary from the city: a warm, grounded space where everyone can recharge. We’re looking for someone who values calm, cleanliness, reliability, and open communication, and who brings kindness to shared living.
Ideally, you are familiar with the kind of conscious community work that makes a shared home feel good: consistently taking part in chores, respecting shared spaces, and contributing to an atmosphere of ease, care, and thoughtfulness. We hope to be friendly and connected with the people we live with, while also respecting privacy and downtime.
Important — please only reach out if you:
- already have high standards for cleanliness and tidiness and actively maintain shared spaces
- are comfortable with direct, respectful communication
- enjoy being friendly and connected with housemates
- are 30+
- can comfortably afford the room
Partners are welcome to visit occasionally, but should not effectively move in.
The house itself is a gem: three floors of historic detail with woodwork and stained glass. The ground floor includes a living room, dining room, and large fully equipped kitchen. Upstairs are four bedrooms, two newly renovated bathrooms, and a laundry room.
Please note: the laundry room is adjacent to this room, so we coordinate laundry times with one another to respect quiet and privacy.
We’re on a beautiful, tree-lined block, a 4-minute walk to the F/G train (7th Ave) and 10 minutes to Prospect Park.
Please note: this is a temporary sublet only (June 1 – January 31). The dates are fixed and not negotiable.
If this sounds like a good fit, please write and tell us a bit about yourself: who you are, what you do, your typical weekly rhythm, and why you think you’d be a good fit.
Please mention “armadillos” in your message so we know you read to the end.
Sorry: no pets, no smoking, and one person only.
