I'm leaving my big and bright Crown Heights room for Europe for six weeks over the summer and I'm looking for someone to look after it. It's in a big apartment with separate kitchen and spacious (yes, spacious) living and dining area, and bike storage. We're set on the second floor of a rent-stabilised residential building with 50 or so units. We have a laundromat in the basement and the super is generally pretty attentive.

My room has lots of clothes storage and a large desk; the kitchen has a big cooker and a second smaller dining area, as well as plenty of cupboard space. The bathroom has a tub and two (!) showers, although I recommend you just use one of them. My roommate Ben and I have been putting some love into the living room lately, meaning you'll get to enjoy the fruits of our labour: a hanging paper orb lamp, an arcing metal orb lamp, a big dining table, a TV, plants, turntables, sound system, lots of books and vinyl...

It's near good bars, cafés, and restaurants and it's right by Brower Park, which is a nice place to relax on a sunny day. Prospect Park is 30 minutes or so walking, and I often go for runs around it. We have the Nostrand or Kingston AC stations north of us or the 2345 trains all south on Eastern Parkway. I've got my bike too, which you're welcome to use if you fit my frame (it's very large).

I'm a 30-year-old British writer who spends a few days a week teaching college courses and otherwise I work on a variety of projects: reporting radio shows, writing fiction, and doing some editorial work for different authors, publishers, and magazines.

Ben is a 28-year-old architect who wakes up early to play tennis a few days a week and teaches college courses also. He's a great guy. You'll be living with him.

We're looking for someone who's going to be clean and respectful, ideally working, and somewhere around our age.
