Sun-drenched, spacious, furnished room for sublet July-September

Rooms for Sublet

$1,250/month

Available

July 1, 2026 - September 30, 2026

Neighborhood

Washington Heights, New York

Transportation

subway(1/AC), bus (stop right outside the building!)

Size

220 sq. ft.

About the apartment: located in washington heights, it’s a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, in a prewar building with a very functional elevator. I share the full bathroom with my roommate, Sevita, and we have great kitchen (Sevita and I love to cook and have optimized the space best we can) with a dishwasher and kitchen island for added space.

Our building is a 6 min walk from 2 different subway lines (1 and C) and is situated along the Hudson river, not too far from riverside park. There’s two large supermarkets as well as a very reliable laundromat around the corner. There’s tons of little neighborhood restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, and bars located walking distance, as well as a planet fitness.

My room is very large by nyc standards, and has room for a queen bed, a large area rug, all my plants, a large closet, and then some! There are two big north facing windows and one to the west, so the room gets plenty of natural light.

About my roomies: Sevita, Theo and I have lived together for almost 5 years, and I think that’s a testament to how much we value respecting each other’s needs. They’re also just very kind and fun people. Sevita works in non profit (hybrid format) and spends a lot of time practicing glass blowing (custom pieces from the studio are all over the apartment :)), and is also a devoted cat mom. Theo bartends, acts, and is an avid reader and marathoner. Dasha, Sevita’s cat, is a central fixture of the apartment, and is super cute and everyone’s favorite.

We’re looking for someone who is mindful, communicative, and tidy to sublet this room from July - September. Move in dates we can be flexible on for the right person :)

About This Lister

I am a freelance chef and typically spend a lot of time in the apartment, cooking, prepping, and cleaning. I mainly cook for large parties and events in the city, but I will be working full time for a family in the Hamptons this summer, hence the vacancy in my room. It really is of the highest importance to me to maintain a clean living space, both in common areas and my room for peace of mind and general hygiene, so to me, that means regular vacuuming, reorganizing, scrubbing surfaces, fridge clean outs, etc. We’ve hosted lots of gatherings and dinner parties in the apartment, which is one of my favorite ways to pass the time. While my roommates and I have a lot of different interests and diverging schedules, we really do enjoy each other’s company and look out for one another.
