Hello!

I’m looking for a roommate to sign a 1-year lease for April 1st. My current roommate is on a sublease and is looking for a place of his own that is closer to his work. I’m hoping to find someone who’s looking for a calm, clean, and peaceful space that we can share.

Location
We are in Crown Heights, near Eastern Parkway and Nostrand Ave. We’re within walking distance to Franklin Ave which has several great restaurants/bars. Brower Park and a small branch of the Brooklyn Public Library are just a few blocks away.

From Eastern Parkway we’re about a 20-minute walk to the Brooklyn Museum and Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

About the Space
This is a 2-bedroom apartment and each room has its own full bathroom. The common space is the kitchen/dining room area, which is furnished with a loveseat, dining table, shoe rack, and coat rack. Our unit is on the 4th floor (top floor, walk-up) and does not face the street, so it is very quiet. We also have rooftop access.

Each room has its own A/C unit. In the kitchen there is a microwave and gas stove, and plenty of storage space. There are two washer/dryer units each in the basement. The room available is at the far end of the apartment entrance, so noise has not been an issue. It has two large windows and is drenched in natural light. The two bedrooms mirror each other with closet/bathroom orientation. Please note that the room will be unfurnished.

About Me
I’m a 38-yr-old (f) restaurant manager. I have lived in this apartment for four years and I love it. My past two roommates and I were clean, respectful of our shared space, and open with communication.

I value my personal space and privacy when I am home, but I enjoy socializing casually with a roommate. At home, I mostly cook and listen to music, watch movies/tv shows in my room. I love music and I love seeing live performances when I can. For work, I am out of the apartment by around 1PM five days a week (Wednesday-Sunday) and get home from work between 11PM and 1AM. I use the kitchen before work to cook/meal prep and occasionally practice music in my room. My weekend is Monday-Tuesday.

About You
I am hoping to find someone who is in school or works out of the apartment Monday-Friday. My previous roommates were artists who worked in studios on weekdays and we each had private time to ourselves in the apartment. This is a small unit so designating time for kitchen/common space use is important.

No smoking and no pets, please.

Con Edison: This varies: in the summer months it’s around $80 and in Jan/Feb it can go up to around $150.

Move in cost is first months’ rent plus deposit. There is an application process with our landlord which includes a credit check. There is an application fee.
