*~*30 under 30: if you're 30 or younger, you can hire me for $YourAge/ hour (if you're 26, $26/ hour) for two four-hour sessions.~*~
Now booking March 10 and beyond!
You have clutter, and it's stressing you out. I can help. I want your home to feel like a cozy haven this winter. If you've resolved to be more organized this year or to finally get your clutter under control, the first step is booking an intake call with me. Let's do this!
My clients are creative, thoughtful, intelligent, sentimental people who are ready to make a big change in their homes, but struggle with a busy life, decision fatigue, and too much stuff. If you find yourself saying "I don't want to have all this stuff anymore-- but I have no idea where to begin!" we'll be a good fit. I know where to begin, and I'm excited to help!
I am a positive, calm, nonjudgmental, and friendly presence in your home. I am genuinely delighted to see a crammed closet or a packed-to-the-gills storage unit, and I make visual progress fast. I regularly take 2+ contractor bags (filled with garbage or donations) out of a client's home after each session.
My process: we declutter together, typically either by room or by category. I'm not a minimalist per se-- I believe you can keep as much as you reasonably have space for, and truly love. Items can bring up feelings, and I'm here to hold space for this process, which can be emotional and cathartic.
After decluttering, we organize what's left. Or, if you're moving (doing this work before a move is a GREAT idea), we pack it up. I'm not the buy-a-million-plastic-bins kind of organizer-- often, my clients already have everything they need, there's just too much of it!
Why work with a declutterer/ organizer? I bring momentum and ease, positivity and fun, but I'm a stranger who doesn't care how messy you are. Often doing this work with friends or family members can bring up unnecessary guilt and pressure - you'll never hear me say "noooo, you should keep that!" nor have to apologize to me for getting rid of a gift I gave you.
A fun fact: my clients regularly find unused gift cards, beloved lost jewelry, and cash in their homes; or finally have the momentum to sell *that expensive unused thing.* Just saying!
I’m available for a one-day project, multiple-day overhaul, or ongoing visits to continually keep your home clutter-free and organized. I'll take donations out of your house same-day (BK clients) or the next.
Here are the logistical details:
Free 15-min consultation via phone or video call.
$75/ hour, 4 hour minimum. (Exceptions: see offers above.)
$100 nonrefundable deposit due upon scheduling. Balance due day of session.
~ I am available any day of the week.
~ I do not offer digital organizing.
~ I do offer move management/ packing & unpacking.
~ We declutter together so that I'll never throw away anything you need to keep.
~ I work as sustainably as possible (donations, electronics recycling, etc.)
Don't hesitate to reach out with questions. I'm excited to get to work on your space!
Some testimonials:
"I don't yet have words for how grateful we are. Our closets look AMAZING! We [client couple] fought zero, got rid of a garbage bag full of things and a whole huge cart full of donations, and are both inspired to keep going on our own and book you again!" - A & C
"I want to post you on billboards across America - everyone would be a more organized, sane person had they you in their life/ storage unit!" - M
“Going through my room is something I’ve been putting off for years. Emily took a daunting task and made it not only possible but really kind of fun. She was so calm and encouraging, and while she had a system, it never felt like she was pushing her own agenda or opinion. She helped me figure out what I wanted to keep and what I could let go of— totally without judgment. I cannot believe we combed through my entire room in a day. What a relief!” - D
"You are a catalyst for clarity." - G
I’m Emily. I grew up in Massachusetts, went to acting school, worked on an organic vegetable farm for a while, and now live in Brooklyn. I am a writer, I work in peoples' homes, and I'm always keeping my eye out for the best secondhand furniture finds.
I have 9 years of organizing experience. I’ve done a truly wide variety of projects— my high school teacher’s office, apartments and homes for clients ages 10 to 80, tiny and massive storage units, a farm stand grocery store and walk-in fridge… and I absolutely love this work!
