Primary responsibilities:
– Edit/scale/unroll Rhino models so they can be used for production by fabricators.
-- Candidate must have experience putting models into production.
– Managing the file flow between the studio and digitally related production facilities, ie, foundries, fabricators, art institutions, etc.
– Organize and archive digital files as well as correspondence between studio and outside parties. Candidate will maintain digital library and streamline it into a usable resource for the rest of the studio to access and use.
– Render 3D models for exhibition planning, for both interior and exterior sites.
– Maintain an archive of production information

The ideal candidate would have:
--Bachelor of Industrial Design, or B.Arch
– Advanced proficiency in Autocad and Rhinoceros
– 3+ years experience with custom fabrication, digital fabrication, architecture
– Ability to make clear construction/shop drawings
--Deep understanding of materials and processes
--Engineering knowledge a plus
– Demonstrated experience with 3D rendering
– Proficiency in preparing 3D prints, operating a (FDM) 3D printer, and maintenance
– Experience outputting to CNC machines (especially laser cutter)
– Experimental and flexible approach to design

Required expertise in:
• Rhinoceros
• Solidworks
• Adobe suite

Beneficial/a plus if you have skills in:
• Grasshopper
• Blender
• Z-brush
• Physical model making experience

Hourly rate is $28-$35/hour depending on experience.

Studio is located in Kingston, NY. In person is preferred, though a hybrid scenario could be an option for the right person.
